The Tower is Lit
And it has balls, too.
The Tower at The University of Texas at Austin will be lighted orange with the number “1” Wednesday evening (April 29) in recognition of the Hispanic National Bar Association Moot Court Competition National Championship. This year’s competition was held March 5-7, 2009, in Miami, Fla., and included 32 teams from across the country. The problem was based on a pending Supreme Court case challenging certain rulings of former Attorney General Ashcroft. The Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA) was founded 30 years ago and represents the interests of more than 100,000 legal professionals and students. Each spring the HNBA hosts a moot court competition during its mid-year conference. This is the 12th national championship the School of Law has won in the last 10 years.
I just couldn’t pass up the opportunity to take this pic. The shot has been done before but I don’t think I’ve seen it when the Tower is lit up with the “1”. This might be the first time it’s happened since the balls were put on campus. hmmm….
